Comments allow you to collaborate directly within a card by sharing updates, feedback, and important details with your team.

Add a Comment
- Open the card where you want to add a comment.
- Click the Comments panel located on the bottom-left side of the card.
- Click the Add Comment button.
- A comment text box will appear. Enter your message, then click the Add button at the bottom of the field to post your comment.

Use the Comment Action Bar
When writing a comment, an action bar appears at the bottom of the comment field. This toolbar allows you to format and enhance your message.

You can:
- Bold text
- Italicize text
- Underline text
- Strikethrough text
- Change text color
- Add highlight color
- Clear formatting
- Align text
- Create numbered lists
- Create bullet lists
- Indent left or right
- Insert a code block
- Add a URL
- Link an attachment from the card
- Insert emojis
Linking Attachments in Comments
If you link an attachment from the card, the attachment title will appear as clickable text in your comment. Clicking the title will open the attachment directly.
Edit Your Comment

- Locate the comment you want to edit.
- Click the pencil icon next to your name.
- Update your text.
- Click the Update button to save your changes.
Delete Your Comment

- Locate the comment you want to delete.
- Click the trash can icon next to your name on the comment.
- When prompted, confirm that you want to delete the comment.
Once confirmed, the comment will be permanently removed from the card.
Reply to a Comment

- Scroll to the comment you want to reply to.
- Click the Reply button.
- Type your reply.
- Click the Reply button on the bottom of comment field to post your reply.
Comments are listed from newest to oldest. Replies appear under each comment from oldest to newest.
Mention Users in a Comment (@ Mentions)

You can notify users directly within a comment using mentions.
- Type @ in the comment field.
- A dropdown menu will appear showing users on the board.
- Select the user you want to mention.
You can also use special mentions:
- @card — Notifies all users on the card.
- @board — Notifies all users on the board.
Mentions help ensure the right people are alerted and informed. Based on notification preferences, users may receive email alerts for comments, replies, and mentions.
React to a Comment
You can quickly respond to a comment using emoji reactions.
- Locate the comment you want to react to.
- Click the smiley face icon with a plus (+) at the bottom-left of the comment.
- A reaction menu will open, displaying available emojis.

The reaction menu includes:
- A Recent tab with your most frequently used emojis
- Multiple category tabs for different types of emojis
- A search bar to quickly find a specific emoji
Click the emoji you want to use. Your reaction will immediately be added to the comment.
How Reactions Appear
- If it is the only reaction, it will appear next to the reaction icon.
- If there are multiple reactions, they will appear in order, with the most recent reaction shown at the end.
- Reactions display in a blue bubble with a number indicating how many users selected that emoji.

Viewing Reaction Details
Hover over a reaction to see:
- The name of the user
- The emoji they reacted with
If it is your reaction, the hover text will indicate that it is yours and that you can click to remove it.

Remove a Reaction
To remove your reaction, simply click the emoji once. It will be removed automatically. To add it again, reopen the reaction menu and select the emoji. You can add multiple different reactions to the same comment.
