Add a Checklist with AI
Use AI to generate a structured checklist for any card based on its title and description — review it, refine it, and insert it with one click.
Kanban Zone can generate a checklist for any card using AI. The AI reads the card's title and description and produces a set of concrete, actionable tasks. You review the result before anything is added to the card.
How to Generate a Checklist
- Open any card.
- In the Tasks section, click the Generate with AI button in the toolbar.

- In the Generate with AI panel, confirm which fields to use as input. By default, both Title and Description are selected.
- Optionally enter a Checklist Name and a Checklist Purpose to give the AI more context about what the checklist should accomplish.
- Click Generate.

Reviewing the Generated Checklist
The AI will produce a list of tasks based on the card content. You will see the generated tasks with a preview of the checklist name.

From here, you have three options:
- Insert Into Card — adds the checklist to the card exactly as generated. Checklists can be edited after insertion.
- Regenerate — produces a new version of the checklist using the same inputs.
- Refine — takes you back to the input panel so you can adjust the checklist name, purpose, or selected fields before generating again.

What the AI Uses to Generate Tasks
The AI generates tasks based on the card's title and description. Providing a clear card description improves the quality of the output. If you add a Checklist Purpose, the AI uses it to focus tasks on a specific outcome rather than the card's full scope.
The generated checklist is a proposal. Nothing is added to the card until you click Insert Into Card.
