The Description field allows you to add detailed context, notes, links, media, and formatting to any card.

Edit a Card’s Description

1. Open the card you’d like to update.
2. Locate the Description box (positioned to the left, directly beneath the card title).
3. Click inside the Description area to activate the text editor.
4. Begin typing to add or update content.

Formatting & Editing Tools

The toolbar at the top of the Description field includes a full set of formatting options:

• Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough
• Text color and Highlight color
• Clear formatting
• Text alignment
• Numbered list and Bullet list
• Indent left/right
• Blockquote
• Code block
• Insert image (you can also copy and paste images directly into the description)
• Embed video (via URL)
• Add hyperlink (select text, then insert a URL)
• Attach files from the card
• • If no attachments exist yet, you’ll be prompted to add one.
• Emoji picker (choose from a full emoji menu)

The toolbar can be collapsed when not in use or fully expanded to view all formatting options.

Real-Time Editing Indicator

When another user is actively editing the Description, their avatar appears in the bottom-right corner of the Description field along with a green indicator bubble. This lets you know the field is currently being edited in real time.

Using the Description field effectively helps keep important details organized and visible, making collaboration smoother and more transparent for everyone on the board.
