Notes for Tasks

Task notes allow you to add quick, focused context directly to individual tasks within a checklist. This helps keep important details tied to the exact work item, instead of getting lost in general card comments.


Adding a Note to a Task

  1. Open a card and go to the Tasks tab.
  2. Create a checklist or select an existing one.
  3. Locate the task you want to add a note to.
  4. On the right side of the task, click the sticky note icon.
  5. In the menu that appears, type your note in the text box.
  6. Click Add to save your note, or Cancel to close the menu.



Once added, your note will appear in the list of previous notes below the input area.


Managing Task Notes

Each note includes options that let you interact with it:

  • Edit a note using the pencil icon
  • Delete a note using the trash icon
  • React to a note using emojis


You can also react to notes created by other users.


Where Notes Appear

Task notes are also visible in the Notifications panel on the left navigation.

You can find them under the Conversations tab.



To distinguish task notes from regular card comments, look for the sticky note icon next to the userโ€™s avatar.


Tips

  • Use task notes for specific, actionable details related to a single task.
  • Keep broader discussions in card comments to avoid clutter.
  • Reactions are a quick way to acknowledge updates without adding extra messages.
